Whatsapp got a new feature to its iOS and Android apps – document sharing.May be it’s not official but when I updated my WhatsApp I got this new feature on my phone as well as my friends. This feature works same for both Andriod and iOS users.
Android users need to tap the attachment icon in a chat and press the new document icon that pops up and share documents with their friends.Let me tell you now Photo and Video sharing options have been compressed into one Camera option to give a room to Document option.
For iOS, you need to tap the arrow icon in the chat and select ‘Share Document’ from the menu that pops up.
You can select documents from cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, and others, but it is limited to only PDF files.
If your friend has not upgraded his/her whatsapp to the version with the document sharing feature then it doesn’t work rather it will give a message saying “the contact has to Update WhatsApp to receive documents”.
WhatsApp displays a preview of the PDF file showing the number of pages, file size and type when you are done with sharing a document.
If you are late to get this feature then update your WhatsApp and share documents.
